SERVICE is committed to conserving the planet's natural
resources &
protecting the environment through waste reduction & recycling.
State Law AB 939 requires diverting 50% of
waste from the landfill by reducing,
reusing, and
recycling. FEDERAL DISPOSAL
SERVICE, working in
accordance with permit requirements, is fully integrated to implement
multiple, varied waste diversion programs, to provide public education,
and to develop progress towards landfill diversion.
Green Waste Recycling
Green Waste represents approximately
30% of the total waste stream. Green Waste consists of:
- grass clippings
- leaves
- branches
- other landscaping trimmings
Disposing of Green Waste material
into regular trash containers is a common waste disposal error.
Landscape Professionals are to dispose of Green Waste in a no-cost "Green Waste Only" cart available from FEDERAL DISPOSAL SERVICE.
